Guided surgery
Planned on screen,
placed with a guide
Why it matters
The benefits of a
guided approach
- Planned around your new tooth We design where the tooth should sit first, then place the implant to support it. This helps the crown look natural and be easier to clean.
- Accurate position, angle and depth The guide controls how each implant is placed, so it matches the plan closely.
- Avoiding nerves and sinuses Your CBCT scan shows nerves, sinuses and bone in 3D, so the plan keeps a safe distance from them.
- A more efficient procedure Because the planning is done beforehand, surgery is often quicker, and in suitable cases it can be done through smaller openings in the gum.

Your questions, answered
Still wondering about something? Give us a call on 09 570 2823 or email reception@classicsdental.com, and we’ll get back to you.
Is guided surgery used for every implant?
Does it cost more?
No. Planning and the guide are included in your implant treatment.
Does guided surgery hurt less?
Every case is different. Because the planning is done in advance, surgery is often more efficient, and in some cases less of the gum needs to be opened. We’ll talk you through what to expect for your case.
What is the guide made of?
It’s a rigid, biocompatible resin, made by our dental lab or printed here at the clinic, designed to fit over your teeth or gums during surgery.
