Why might I need a gum graft?

Gum disease, brushing too hard or naturally thin gums can lead to recession, which can expose roots and get worse over time.

Is it painful?

It’s done under local anaesthetic. The roof of the mouth, where the tissue comes from, is usually the tender part for a few days.
